Recently while trying to flash custom ROM on my phone I came to a dead end with my phone not responding to me at all. I tried to follow online guides but they were complicated as one said one thing and second said NOT to do that. Luckily, I was able to get my phone back to life, so I decided to write an easy to understand, step by step guide to get dead(partially dead actually) phone back to life.

So, if your phone isn’t booting in normal and recovery mode(Volume down + Home + Power) at all, or shows weird colors on screen, then you should say you got your phone bricked. To make sure this guide will work for your bricked LG Optimus One/P500, try to boot in Emergency Mode. To do this, press Power button, Volume UP & Back button at same time while phone is off. If you see a yellow screen with “Emergency Mode!!!”, then you can continue. Otherwise, well… Sorry!

Download these files:

The KDZ Updater:

After downloaded, unzip KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip and run msxml.msi .

Follow onscreen instructions for installation.

After installation, connect your phone via USB to your PC while in emergency mode.

Run the KDZ_FW_UPD.exe and select the following options:

Type: CDMA or 3GQCT, depending on your connection type. I chose CDMA.

Phone Mode: CS_EMERGENCY. This means that your phone is bricked and is in emergency mode. The other two options are for live phones.

KDZ File: Click browse and select the V10E_00.kdz file you downloaded above.

Click on ‘Launch software update’, and wait till the process completes. You may feel that its not doing anything, but it actually is. It will show advancements slowly and you must not stop it.

Sit back, pray to god that you device works (optional).

The phone will restart in this process. Wait some more, dont do anything.

When you see ‘===FINISHED===’ in message box, you’re done. Disconnect and reboot the phone to see it working again. You will not have anything left on your phone, like apps, messages and even phone numbers. Also, if your phone was rooted, it will unroot.

I hope this guide worked for you and has no mistakes in it. Thanks.

Introduction

Tt eSports, a company or “division” of well-known company Thermal Take makes gaming products for PC. The gaming mouse, headsets, keyboard and anything else that the company makes is not directly available in India, and only place where I was able to find its products was FlipKart. The website said it will take 20 days to deliver, but it was delivered in just 4 days! This keyboard has changable keys, 256 color RGB backlight and a removable braided USB cable. There are also 2 USB ports, a mic & headphone port and a removable fan, which are very interesting too!

Other keyboard I considered:

My budget was 4k, which I stretched by .5k to get this keyboard. I was really confused while purchasing this keyboard, and here are the keyboard which were also in my sight:

Logitech G15: 4100/- This is a really good keyboard, but I dont like its design, and think that LCD is completely useless. In addition to this, the size of keyboard was more than that of my table, so this got out of list.

Razer Lycosa: 3700/- Really great design but no changable backlight and lack of other features like macro keys got this also out of my list.

Logitech G110: 3575/- This keyboard is closest competitor with Tt eSports Challenger Ultimate according to me. Nice design, size was less than that of my table too! Also had Red-Blue backlight and macro keys so it was really difficult to take the decision, but I chose Challenger Ultimate over this because it has full RGB backlight with great design!

Packaging

This keyboard was packed in a very nice way, with everything like cable or fan in a proper “pocket” of box.

Closer Look…

The keyboard was packed in a bag and this can be used if you need to take the keyboard to your friends house. This bag is really nice and has velcro on its top to keep it closed. On taking the keyboard out of the box, it looked like a piece of art! I decided to wait no longer and plug it in to check how it performs on my PC. I turned my PC on, inserted the first USB cable but nothing happened until second was inserted too. Everything was going nice and typing from this keyboard was also better than my previous MK200. After about 10 minutes, suddenly the back-light went off and no key press was detected! About 15 seconds later it looked like windows re-detected it and it started to work fine. After another 2 minutes the same happened and I was really afraid that I got a defected keyboard. I decided to restart my PC to check if something changes but that didn’t help too. After this happened 2-3 times more, I thought that maybe its because I have not installed the drivers. But even after installing drivers from disk nothing changed. I was really disappointed by this and asked for a replacement from flipkart. Flipkart said that they require about 48 hours to check if they can get a replacement or not. I turned the PC off and forgot about it because of studies. After about a week on a Saturday I decided to check one more time and after turning my PC on, the backlight remained there for first 15 minutes. After this, I decided to leave PC idle to check if the problem is going to return. Even after observing it for an hour, the backlight didn’t went off and I was really happy that it started to work. The problem was solved then, and even after about 2-3 weeks I have not seen that problem again!

The Driver : A Nightmare…

Ok, the keyboard started to work fine, typing and gaming using this was a pleasure too but after gaming for a few hours I decided to change the backlight. I started the driver software and it looked like it will take forever to start! This actually happens everytime you start the software as it reads data from keyboard’s internal memory.
Onboard Audio and USB port

After about 5 minutes of waiting, the driver started and there was a button which looked like an LED. I clicked on it and I was right- it changed the backlight. Changing the backlight was easy but as soon as I closed the LED window, the backlight changed back to red. This was very weird, so I decided to look on net if newer version of driver was available. But no, I was having the latest version of the driver software. I was also unable to find the help for this, even internet didn’t help :s. After some random clicks, profile changes etc I figured out that I need to save it to profile after closing the LED window. This was very confusing as as soon as you close the LED window, the backlight changes to red, which made me think that it will save red to profile, but I was wrong. It saved the one which was selected on LED window. Another problem solved, but I didn’t like how I was unable to get any help with it!
Another thing which I hate about the driver is that if software is running, you cannot switch profile or change backlight level using buttons on keyboard.

Even More Closer Look

The USB ports function as they are supposed to do. They can support any device which will use less than 100ma from the USB ports, so I guess HDD cannot be connected to them, but I have not checked. The onboard headphone jack confuses the windows many times, and its very difficult to tell windows that it needs to use headphones on keyboard, not the speakers on mobo. I am unable to find a way to tell windows to use the headphone jack on keyboard and not on mobo, windows automatically selects which one to use according to its own wish :s

The keys of this keyboard are very smooth and this makes typing easy. But, if you start to type a little faster, then the noise coming from keys(especially spacebar) increases, which isn’t a disturbance actually but gets irritating many times.. Programming keys is easier than changing the backlight. The programmed keys work fine too.

The multimedia keys like NEXT, PREVIOUS, PLAY/PAUSE & STOP work perfectly. The onboard profile switch is also nice And you can change backlight intensity from another button which also works fine. BUT, the two keys-volume up & down- work only with the headphone connected on the keyboard, not with windows directly. So, you cannot use this button to reduce sounds coming from speaker attached to motherboard..

Concluding Remarks

This keyboard comes with some extra red colored keys which can replace existing black colored keys using the key changing tool. Changing keys is not at all a difficult job and even a 8 year old can do this very easily! The red colored keys which are included are: W, A, S, D & Arrow keys.

The so called hand cooling fan doesn’t cool the hand very effectively. You get some cool air when you place your hand on F1, F2 & F3 though! The fan is removable too and there is a “cap” to cover the fan port & protect it from dust. There is a small slot in keyboard in which you can keep the fan if its not being used.. Other lights indicating Num Lock, Caps Lock etc are on top of the keyboard, and there is also a light which indicates which profile is selected with 5 colors: RED, GREEN, BLUE, PINK & YELLOW. These colors change when you switch the profile using the profile switch button on keyboard. The backlight on the “Tt” logo can not be changed, but it can be turned off.

Another thing that I dont like about the keyboard is its size. Many reviews said that table might collide with fan, but thats not the case with me, the width of “place for keyboard” is a cm smaller than this keyboard, and its makes very diffcult to fit the keyboard in. But luckily I can remove the cable and reconnect it whenever I want to use it.
Now I don’t think I have missed anything about the keyboard in this review, and if I did, please let me know so that I can edit it.

PROS
+Great looks
+Full RGB backlight
+14 programmable keys
+Detachable cable
+USB Ports
+Smooth keys

CONS
-Horrible driver!(but if someone needs help with this he can PM me.)
-Fan is very much useless!
-Headphone port/onboard audio confuses windows..
-The volume up & down keys work only for headphones connected to keyboard.

The keyboard has really nice looks, great features but confusion created by sound card to windows is really disappointing. If volume keys are useless for you and if you are ready to mess with control panel to enable headphones on keyboard then this keyboard is great for you; otherwise G110 is also great but lacks RGB backlight.

Hello people!
I just wanted to show you how to setup a dedicated tf2 server, configure it as you like and install mods too.

Downloading and installing

Download this dedicated server file:
http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.exe

This file will be used to update and install the server.
Save the file to an easy to access location, like C:\Server\ or D:\TF2\ .

Now you need to download the files that will make the server run(what you currently have is an installer, not files). To do this, in Win7/Vista open install directory(C:\Server) and press Shift + Right mouse button. Select “Open command window here” from the menu. A command window will pop up. Type the following in command prompt:

hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir c:\Server

Change c:\Server with whatever directory you want the installation to be in.

If you are in WinXP, just type the following in notepad, save it as .bat and execute it:

c:\Server\hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir c:\Server

It will start installing the server, but will also show you the following: “No installation found in C:\Server”. Just ignore it, as its not an error but an information for you to tell you “You told me to update, but there isn’t any installation. Wait, I will download all missing files”. In a few minutes the download will start and it will display you the percentage completed. The download is about 4GB and installer may exit randomly for no reason. Just launch it again and it will continue. Once you have all the files, you need to configure the server.

Customizing/Configuring Server:
There is no default server configuration file and you will need to make one. To do this, open notepad and copy following in it(Dont forget to edit it as you want to):

sv_logflush 0 //Flush the log file to disk on each write (slow).
sv_logsdir “logs” //Folder in the game directory where server logs will be stored.

//Server Rates
sv_maxcmdrate 0 //(If sv_mincmdrate is > 0), this sets the maximum value for cl_cmdrate.
sv_maxrate 20000 //Max bandwidth rate allowed on server, 0 == unlimited
sv_maxreplay 2 //Maximum replay time in seconds
sv_maxupdaterate 100 //Maximum updates per second that the server will allow
sv_mincmdrate 0 //This sets the minimum value for cl_cmdrate. 0 == unlimited.
sv_minrate 0 //Min bandwidth rate allowed on server, 0 == unlimited
sv_minupdaterate 30 //Minimum updates per second that the server will allow

The main things you need to change in above configuration are:

–hostname : This is the server’s name displayed to everyone who connects to it. Plce the name in inverted commas(” “).

–sv_password : Use it if you want to enable a password on your server. Only people who enter password can play on your server.

–sv_lan : Is set to 1, only the people on your LAN will be able to play on server.

You can edit other variables[aka cvar] too, but you dont need to do that right now. You can do that once you get server running.

Save it as server.cfg in C:\Server\Orangebox\tf\cfg\ . Remember, save it as .cfg not .txt!

Launching the server.

There are 2 ways to run the server. First is to run from .bat file:

c:\server\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game tf -hostport 27015
+maxplayers 24 +map cp_dustbowl

The other way is to create shortcut of srcds.exe in orangebox folder. After making shortcut, go to its properties and add following after destination path:

-console -game tf -hostport 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map cp_dustbowl

Just run these files whenever you need to run the server. In above codes, -game tells what game to run(tf means team fortress 2), hostport is the port to use, +maxplayers is number of players allowed on server and +map is the map to start with.

Incase you see something like: “27005 port unavailable, bound to 277002” -or something similar, you need to open ports on your router. Doing this on most routers is easy:

Go to your router page(192.168.1.1) and enter password.

Go to Access Management >> NAT >> Virtual Server. There, open the ports from 27005 to 27021.

Make a google search to see how to open ports on your router.

If you have already opened the ports and are still getting error, most probably server or the game is already running and using one of the port. Close the game and restart server.

To connect to your own server, start TF2 and go to browse server. Then from LAN tab, select your server and click connect! Call your friends to join to make sure it works on internet too.

In Game Commands & Customization

When the server is running, any changes made in server.cfg will not take effect unless server is restarted. To change cvars or give other commands without turning server off, go to server console and type the name of cvar with value to change it. For example, if you want to enable cheats on your server, type:

sv_cheats 1

or to change map

changelevel plr_hightower

You can change anything from the console, and can also kick/ban players using kick/ban commands (kick <username>).Note that any changes made from console will not be saved in server.cfg! If you want to enable instant respawn on the server, just add this variable to server.cfg:

mp_disable_respawn_times 1

Now if you want to change the map cycle on your server or want just one map to run all the time, this can be done by editing mapcycle.txt in \orangebox\tf\. Just enter the name of maps you want to run in cycle and save. An example is this:

cp_mountainlab
pl_upward
koth_nucleus
ctf_2fort
cp_degrootkeep

You may also want to edit the welcome page shown to players. This can be done by editing motd.txt in \orangebox\tf\ .
Just type in what you want to display to users and exact text file will be shown on welcome page.

Updating Server

If a new TF2 update has been released, you will need to update your server too, otherwise players won’t be allowed to join your server. To update the server, you just need to run the update command we used above to install server and it will update. Everything else will go same as installing of server, except the file size.

SourceMod
SourceMod is a very useful plugin for a tf2 server. It allows you to specify admins, and make decisions directly from the game. You can also install many useful mods if you have this plugin installed. Some of the great features I like are:

changing cvars directly from the game.

kicking/muting/banning players directly.

Show messages to users in center, top or bottom of screen(useful for ads).

Call votes from game.

Change map rotation/map cycle from game.

There are many more useful functions of SourceMod, you can find them on their site: SourceMod: Half-Life 2 Scripting

Installing SourceMod
Installing SourceMod is really very very easy. Just download the following files before starting:
Metamod:Source – News (MetaMod, Download link is in top left)
SourceMod Downloads (SourceMod)
Metamod:Source – Make a VDF File (VDF File, to make MetaMod run. Select TF2 as game and click generate)

Unzip contents of MetaMod to \orangebox\tf\ . After successful extraction you will see an Addon folder there.
Copy the vdf file you generated from above link to this addon folder.
Unzip contents of SourceMod to\orangebox\tf\ . You will see a message asking to overwrite. Select yes, as only folder is common and not the files.

Restart the server and type following in console:

meta version
sm version

If in any of commands console says “Unknown command”, then mods aren’t installed properly. Try following detailed guide here: Installing SourceMod – AlliedModders Wiki.
